Steeped in small-town ethics and motivated by a love for our fellow man, Stone of Help Community Outreach (SOHCO) is a 501(c)(3) organization, founded in 2018 by core members of the township of Lincolnville, SC, one of the last remaining African-American founded towns in the state of South Carolina, dedicated to engaging the Lincolnville community, a populace of 2,000 persons, by helping and encouraging community members to aspire to a better quality of life through specific and targeted physical and mental health wellness, educational advancement, housing, and economic initiatives, resulting in elevating the state of the community.
Our mission statement: Hope, Help, Heal.
HopeIn the midst of all of life’s inevitable twists and turns, hope helps people to approach these challenges with an attitude and strategy that is suitable for success, thereby increasing their odds of achieving their goals. We aspire to be an outlet of hope, giving and improving the chance for those in our community to not only survive but also thrive.
HelpWe seek to truly be of service, removing stereotypical judgments to mindfully assist in ways that are lasting and genuinely beneficial. We respect a person’s capabilities and grant our assistance to anyone willing to accept it without anything in return. Our desire to provide transformative and lasting change in the lives of the people to whom we come in contact
HealHealing is a process; a process of overcoming shame, guilt, anger, frustration that can take time to fully actualize. Healing is the product of hoping for a better tomorrow and receiving a helping hand to get to that tomorrow. We endeavor to make a lasting barrier-breaking change, substantive contributions, and long-term connections that will positively advance the present and the future of the community.
We are currently collaborating with the township of Lincolnville and several of the faith-based organizations in the area to potentially provide the following services:
